Sponsor news: AC Precision Engineering (08/03/2023)

AC Precision Engineering, one of the Sheffield Eco Motorsport sponsors for 2022-2023, are one of the most prevalent businesses in the milling and turning industry. Our team has been able to work with them, use their services and learn about the cutting edge technologies they have been using to serve their customers for 15 years.  As leaders in the CNC milling and turning practices, AC Precision Engineering have previously worked with a range of specialist motorsport and F1 racing teams to produce parts from brake tools to the intricacies of aerodynamic wings.

Sheffield Eco Motorsport presented AC Precision Engineering with some bespoke, custom-drawn steering and brakes components, which the company has been able to produce for us to use in our SEM-02 car that will race in this year’s competition. A total of 6 technical drawings produced by our team were sent, such as the master cylinder and piston body. We also sent parts of the pinion and shaft drawings, designed on Fusion 360.

By working with us to produce these parts, AC Precision Engineering has proven invaluable to the performance of the car overall, as well as the steering and brakes system, led by Harry Blanford. Their high-quality methods of production have meant that some of the most intricate and crucial parts of our system will have the best performance possible throughout testing and race day - and we look forward to proudly bearing the partnership on our livery this year too!
