Sub-Team Roles

 Body and Chassis

Technical subteam

Our body and chassis team design the aerodynamics and space frame chassis of SEM-03. Body and Chassis will also be working at testing a variety of carbon fibre layup techniques to find the best way to manufacture SEM-03

Main parts you will be working on:

  • Aerodynamics of the car body

  • Working with carbon fibre to manufacture the body using either wet lay up or pre-preg

  • Creating a safe steel chassis frame and roll cage

  • Looking into driver environment, such as the seat and safety belt

  • Joining each piece of the carbon fibre body

  • Installing windows in the body

  • Designing space for the mirrors and lights to go on the car body

  • Adhering sponsor logos to the finished body
